Breaking the Silence in My Community

By Joel Okomol 5 months ago Reviewed by Reagan Mukabana
Growing up in a conservative community, talking about sexual health was taboo. Through youth advocacy programs, I learned to speak up about the importance of SRHR education and services. I started peer education sessions in my community and helped establish a youth-friendly health clinic. Seeing other young people gain access to information and services they need has been incredibly rewarding.
